VTX strives to protect personal data of its customers and partners and is committed to complying with the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The new regulation will come into effect on May 25, 2018 throughout the European Union. You can find out more about this new regulation here .
The new European Union (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect on May 25, 2018. From that point on, the GDPR is directly applicable to all actors operating on the territory of the EU. The new regulations give citizens more control over their personal data; In addition, the GDPR makes companies more responsible, while at the same time their reporting obligations are reduced. Furthermore, the role of the data protection authorities will be strengthened. Numerous Swiss companies will be directly affected by the General Data Protection Regulation.
Does the GDPR also apply to the VTX Group?
Yes, but only indirectly:
- no addressing or processing of target groups based on personal data
- No targeting of customers or potential customers in the EU
- Our business activities are limited to Swiss territory. We guarantee that our servers and data centers are only in Switzerland and not in the EU
- VTX does not have access to its customers’ data, for which VTX hosts racks or websites in its data centers
- no transmission of data to partners, be it in Switzerland or in the EU
- Control of the entire data management process from AZ
However, for some services (hosting, housing, domain names, smart numbers), VTX may have EU customers or personal data of natural customers in the EU working in a Swiss company. In these cases, or any other case where personal data of EU citizens is involved, VTX is subject to the new EU regulation and is committed to complying with it.
What data does VTX collect?
They collect data that our customers provide us with when the first contract is drawn up, as well as relevant data as part of customer contacts with the sales or support department of VTX. Apart from the data for telephone calls that VTX needs to bill its services, VTX does not collect any personal data relating to the consumption of its Swiss customers or in the EU.
VTX is not directly affected by the new EU General Data Protection Regulation. However, we try to provide information to all our customers who are directly or indirectly affected by one or more articles of the GDPR. VTX is committed to doing everything possible to satisfy the requests of its current and future customers within the framework of the new GDPR applicable from 05/25/2018.
